As you explore you will slowly learn the story of DUST, but unlike vanilla Fallout, you are not the main character. Stay alive.ĭUST takes place 20 years after the events of New Vegas. You will not be able to complete quests or join factions. All vanilla NPCs have either been killed or changed beyond all recognition. Some areas have even been visually overhauled. Combat, weather, perks, loot, enemies, you name it. DUST completely overhauls nearly every aspect of the game to better represent an apocalyptic survival-horror atmosphere.

I'm almost wondering if I shouldn't go back to Nexus because, while Organizer certainly helps with things like not having to do fresh installs and stuff, it seems like there's a lot of other issues that come with it.ĭUST is a Post-Apocalyptic survival simulator with an emphasis on lore and story. I may end up just having to do a fresh install, redoing the 3GB memory fix or whatever it is and FOSE, and figuring out the.

Same as above, I don't know what values to edit or anything like that.Ĥ) How do I get Steam overlay and the Steam playtime counter to work when launching F3 through FOSE through Mod Organizer? The first picture is where a large amount of the grass where I'm aiming isn't loaded (it's within the draw distance range), and the next is about 3 steps towards it where it has suddenly popped in.ģ) The texture draw distance and LOD distance is ALSO awful.

I haven't edited the profile preferences, but I don't know what I have to edit in order to fix this or what the performance hit will be.

I don't know what's causing this or how to fix it.Ģ) The grass draw distance is atrocious. (Keep in mind that I'm using Mod Organizer, so files haven't been overwritten or anything).ġ) These red boxes. Okay, so I have Fallout 3 almost exactly as I want it, but I have a couple issues. A lot of testing went into this in particular, and I found it worked. Should apply to all creatures too, even those added by Mart's Mutant Mod. This means headshots are instant death and limbs are crippled fast. Newest mod to my list, Realistic Weapon Damage. You can't just dump points into a skill anymore either, which removes my habit of always leveling lockpick and science to their next threshold and then stopping. Raise science by hacking, repair by repairing, etc. Learn by doing like the Elder Scrolls leveling system. Another incentive for continuing to invest in skills, and goes well with the next mod. For instance, I believe if you increase guns to 40, you get the Fast Reload perk. Remember more perks? This one removes certain perks from the level up list and makes them attained based on skill levels instead.

More weapon mods for each (vanilla) gun. More weapon and armor variety, because damn do the Fallout games have a limited selection. Because if they claim to be protectors, they should act like it. Pop up messages suck in real life and in games. You'll need more perk choices because of another mod further down the list. PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE ALSO THE TTW VERSION. MTUI is also good, but I like the fonts in this. Adds reputation to Fallout 3 communities. I like 3's style more, but having two versions would be more than a bit jarring. Unifies speech checks to be New Vegas style and not 3 style. Follow the instructions on the TTW site for installation. Also allows for increased spawning, making the Dunwich building kind of harrowing. New Vegas version will be added when I get to Vegas. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS THE VERSION OF PN FOR TTW. Equipment is arguably optional because TTW adds a lot of the weapons from 3 back, but there is compatibility for the few that aren't. The features of PN, especially bullet time, are favorites of mine.

Bugfixes for 3 and New Vegas made with TTW compatibility Tale of Two Wastelands because why should I have to choose which game to play?
